Gravel size

Filter gravel is poured into the annulus space between screen and borehole walls. It is used for retaining fine sands from the surrounding formation.

Filter gravel is standardised. i.e. it must possess a round, not sharp-edged composition, to avoid obstruction of the screen slots.
